The HP715Ex IIC is an intrinsically safe analogue/DMR handheld with a 1.47-inch colour display and simpler controls without a full keypad. This reference offer is the IIC configuration with BL2105-Ex battery, single charger and power adapter, in separate UHF or VHF hardware versions.
Define one IIC configuration
The reference RRP covers HP715EXU, UHF 400-480 MHz, or HP715EXV, VHF 136-174 MHz. IIA is different hardware with different RF and temperature limits; it is not a free selectable feature of this IIC offer. The IIC RF hardware is rated 1 W / 2 W, with programmed frequency and power subject to the radio licence and approval conditions. The stated standard AN0435H21 UHF antenna covers 400-470 MHz, while AN0167H11 VHF covers 160-174 MHz. Channels outside those antenna bands need an appropriate approved antenna identified separately in the quote.
Read the marking with the site assessment
The IIC reference manual records ATEX gas marking II 2G Ex ib IIC T4 Gb and dust marking II 2D Ex ib IIIC T120 degrees C Db, under FM23ATEX0033X. It also identifies IECEx FMG 23.0016X and UKEX FM23UKEX0036X. Match the actual radio label, certificate revision, temperature range and complete accessory assembly to the site assessment. This ib equipment must not be selected as Zone 0 or Zone 20 equipment.
Keep the approved battery and charging chain
The selected package uses BL2105-Ex, a 2,150 mAh lithium-ion battery. The supplied CH10L33 single charger and PS1044 UK/EU adapter form the stated charging package. Charge only in a non-hazardous area and follow the exact manual's component and temperature conditions. Do not substitute an ordinary HP-series battery or assume a PD7 Ex microphone or case fits this radio.
Controls and system functions
The small colour display supports channel and status information; this is not a screen-free radio. Compare HP795Ex when a full keypad and larger display are needed. Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi and GNSS support compatible configured functions. Lone-worker, man-down and emergency alarms need a planned response workflow. Optional encryption, recording and trunking features can require separate licences and supporting systems.
Choose accessories for this generation
The manual names the SM26N13P-Ex microphone and EHN38P-Ex earset, with other certified assemblies subject to the stated connection conditions. POA61-Ex is an upper headset section that needs its documented PTT lower unit; it is not a direct radio plug. Compare PD795 Ex only as a different Ex radio family, with its own battery and accessory requirements. The equipment price excludes programming, the business-radio licence and optional system services.
