Motorola models and the buyer decision
If your team needs PMR446 instead of a licensed Motorola handset, compare the used XT420; its screen-free controls differ from XT460.
| Model | Choose it when | Check before the quote |
|---|---|---|
| GP340 | You need the familiar Professional Series handheld form with physical programmable buttons and 16-channel capacity. | Exact VHF/UHF band split, battery type, channel plan and accessories. The datasheet lists the available frequency bands; the individual radio label decides the variant. |
| DP1400 | You need the non-display MOTOTRBO handheld family and the proposed unit has the required enabled configuration. | Exact band, suffix, codeplug and whether the supplied configuration has the digital capability your fleet requires. Do not assume every DP1400-labelled unit has the same enabled features. |
GP340: a physical-control choice
The GP340 datasheet describes a 16-channel radio with programmable buttons, channel scanning and a rechargeable 7.5 V battery supply. It also lists VHF and UHF frequency bands as separate bandsplits. That makes the exact label and channel plan more useful than a broad Motorola family name when replacing a handset.
DP1400: verify the enabled configuration
The Motorola model page identifies the DP1400 as a MOTOTRBO handheld. Digital capability, band and programming still belong to the exact enabled unit and its codeplug. Send the existing fleet model, band and required mode with the enquiry so the proposed radio can be checked.
These are model-selection guides. The specific condition, supplied items and written commercial terms belong to the individual offer.
