Used, refurbished, ex-demo or ex-display: radio conditions explained

Condition labels describe equipment history. They do not, by themselves, tell you the exact radio variant, included accessories, battery state, warranty or returns terms. Ask for those details in the itemised offer.

Manufacturer stock imagery illustrates a model family; it is not a photograph of the individual unit offered.
Warranty terms will be confirmed in your written quotation.
What each condition label means
- New
- Unused new equipment. The listing or quote should still identify the model, variant and items supplied.
- Used
- Equipment that has previously been used. Cosmetic condition, battery and kit contents, and any warranty or returns terms are separate offer details.
- Refurbished
- Previously used equipment that has undergone the refurbishment work described in its offer. Check what was done, which parts were replaced and what is included.
- Ex-demo
- Equipment previously used for demonstrations. Demonstration use and visible wear should be described separately from cosmetic condition.
- Ex-display
- Equipment previously placed on display. Packaging, accessories and use history should be confirmed separately in the offer.
What to confirm before accepting an offer
- Exact manufacturer model, variant and frequency band or sub-band.
- Analogue or digital mode and any protocol or fleet-compatibility requirement.
- Battery, charger, antenna, belt clip, audio accessory and other included items.
- Known cosmetic damage or missing parts, separately from the condition label.
- Any stated warranty, returns and delivery terms in the specific quote.
For a quote, use the established contact route and include the exact model and required kit.
Compare used two-way radios, check fleet compatibility and complete kit costs, then read how buying by quotation works.
