The HR1065 is a 1U rack-format repeater for a planned analogue or DMR radio system. The base reference configurations are HR1065U for UHF and HR1065V for VHF, with a built-in mains power supply and provision for an external DC backup arrangement.

Basic and enhanced versions differ

The reference RRP applies to the basic HR1065U or HR1065V, rather than the enhanced UE/VE versions. Do not assume that the base equipment includes every gateway, management or system function shown in an HR106X family presentation. Extra software licences and supporting infrastructure depend on the required system.

Rack, power and backup planning

The 44 mm-high body fits a 1U arrangement, with ventilation and cable access needed around the installation. Its internal supply accepts 100-240 V AC; an external 13.6 V DC arrangement can provide backup. A lead-acid battery, battery cabling and a complete backup system are separate from the base equipment.

Complete the RF installation

An appropriate duplexer, antenna system and cabling must be selected for the assigned frequencies and operating site. The repeater needs compatible band-specific radios with the correct channel and system programming. HM785 and the HM655/HM685 family are mobile-radio comparisons, not automatic plug-and-play fleet matches.

Choose the appropriate site authorisation

The repeater installation needs appropriate Ofcom authorisation for its site, frequencies and power. Simple UK handheld/mobile licensing does not cover a repeater installation. The equipment price excludes the licence, installation and programming. Compare HR655 when a compact 25 W fan-equipped repeater is more suitable than a rack unit.
