Firmware, configuration and a separately licensed feature are different things. A feature listed for one model or system does not automatically transfer to another handheld.

Documented repeater example

The Hytera HR1065 brochure states that the HR1065 series can be compatible with most Hytera system types and that repeaters can be unlocked by a firmware upgrade and a chargeable licence. That is a repeater-specific example, not a promise that every portable radio can be upgraded the same way.

For an HR1065 proposal, record the exact band variant, current firmware requirement, licence entitlement, radio system, frequency arrangement, installation and any network or dispatcher dependency. Keep the firmware decision, licence decision and configuration decision as separate fields.

Handheld checks

  • Record the complete model and band variant.
  • Check the stated hardware, firmware and licence requirements.
  • Confirm any approved accessory, repeater, network or management-system dependency.
  • Keep the proposed configuration separate from the basic model description.

Plan a controlled change

  1. Define the operational problem.
  2. Read the exact model or repeater documentation.
  3. Confirm firmware, licence and configuration dependencies.
  4. Test the proposed change on the intended system.
  5. Record the final supported configuration before wider rollout.

Where the exact model documentation does not describe a function, leave it out of the proposed configuration. The separate repeater planning guide covers coverage and licensing decisions.

Compare the relevant handsets and compatible setup choices in the Hytera radio selection guide.
