If you've just unboxed your new Hytera AP51X Two-way Radio – be it the (AP515, AP585, or the AP515LF) – getting it set up quickly is your first priority. This guide will walk you through the essential steps to get your radio operational, from charging the battery to attaching key components, ensuring you're ready to communicate in no time.
1. Unboxing Your Radio
First, carefully unpack your Hytera AP51X Two-way Radio and check the packing list. You should find the radio unit, battery, belt clip, power adapter, USB Type-C cable, strap, and a documentation kit. If any item is missing or damaged, contact your dealer.
2. Charging the Battery
To begin, you'll need to charge the battery of your Hytera AP51X. Always use the approved charger to charge the battery and remember to read the Safety Information Booklet before charging. The remaining lithium-ion battery power is limited to 30% due to shipping regulations approved by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Connect the radio (with the battery attached) to the power adapter, power bank, or PC using the USB Type-C cable. The LED indicator on the radio will show the charging status:
- Glows red: The battery is being charged.
- Flashes red rapidly: The battery fails to be charged.
- Glows green: The battery is fully charged.
3. Attaching the Belt Clip
To attach the belt clip, align the holder on the belt clip with the groove on the battery, and then press the belt clip downwards into place. To remove it, you can press and hold the belt clip spring plate and push the belt clip upwards.
4. Attaching the Battery
For your Hytera AP51X (including models like the **AP515, AP585, and AP515LF**), ensure you use the approved battery to avoid the risk of explosion. Align the tabs on the battery with the grooves in the battery slot. Then, press and push the battery into the battery slot until a click is heard. To remove the battery, make sure the radio is turned off, and then lift the battery latch.
5. Attaching the Antenna
To attach the antenna, screw the antenna clockwise into the connector on the top of the radio. Do not hold the radio by the antenna and swing it, as this may affect performance and shorten its lifespan.
6. Basic Power On/Off
Once everything is assembled, to turn on or off your Hytera AP51X Two-way Radio, simply press and hold the On-Off key.
