To get the most out of your radio, it's important to understand the available Hytera BP565 features and settings that can be customized for your operational needs through the menu or preprogrammed keys.
Backlight
To operate your radio easily in dim light, you can turn on the LCD backlight. Go to Menu > Settings > Backlight, where you can select a duration such as 5s, 15s, 30s, or choose to have it Always on or Always off.
VOX (Voice Activated Transmit)
VOX enables hands-free communication by automatically transmitting when your voice is detected. You can enable this feature either by pressing a preprogrammed VOX key or by navigating to Menu > Settings > VOX.
Scan
The Scan feature allows you to listen for activity across multiple channels. To enable it, press the preprogrammed Scan key or go to Menu > Settings > Scan. The LED indicator will flash orange slowly while scanning and will glow green when it stops on an active channel.
Power Level
You can switch the radio's transmit power between High and Low by pressing the preprogrammed Adjust Power Level key. High power extends your communication range, while low power conserves battery.
Scrambler
For communication privacy, the Scrambler feature inverts the transmitted audio signal, preventing eavesdropping. This is enabled by pressing the preprogrammed Scrambler key.
Monitor
The Monitor feature helps you hear very weak signals that might otherwise be missed. Press the preprogrammed Monitor key to switch between monitor squelch mode and receive squelch mode.
